Fit For A £1
Kids Included CIC wants to tackle childhood obesity and as such our FIT FOR £1 scheme has been created. Our sessions are much more than just physical activity, and we share the key messages that make a positive long-term impact for our children's future in a fun way and engaging way.
We want to ensure that all children across the country have access to some sort of physical activity on a weekly basis, and we will do all we can to ensure that all Early Years settings are able to access our provision through our new Fit for a Quid scheme.
Throughout all of our physical activity programmes including Fit for a Quid we have ensured that we have linked every aspect into the EYFS as follows:
- Communication and Language – provide children the opportunity to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations.
- Physical Development - provide opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children are helped to understand the importance of physical activity, and how to make healthy choices in relation to food.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development – help children to develop a positive sense of themselves, and others; to form positive relationships and develop respect for others; to develop social skills and to understand appropriate behaviour in groups whilst having confidence in their own abilities.
- Literacy and Maths Development – we read and count within our sessions encouraging children to begin to read and improve their skills in counting.
- Expressive Arts and Design – enable children to explore and play with a wide range of materials, as well as providing opportunities and encouragement for sharing their thoughts, ideas and feelings through movement.
